The passion of creating is what I live for. I love having the freedom to experiment with new techniques and media, often surprising myself in the creative process. Working experimentally lets me play with concepts and imagery while reinventing my art. Changing the process of making art allows me to explore my purpose. The process is as important to me as the finished product.
My garden inspired me to learn about color and how to see. Love of color and texture powers my work. My paintings have many layers buried beneath the surface. Adding and subtracting paint, using stamps, sanding, and adding elements of collage are how my paintings evolve. As pieces evolve, they take on a life of their own.
Art is a form of communication and through familiar imagery I "speak" a common visual language with the viewer. Symbols that represent the common threads and relationships of life are prevalent in my paintings. My current work combines the ancient art of printmaking with cutting edge technology.
My art is in numerous corporate and private collections world wide. Some corporate commissions include the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City, the Princess Cruise Lines, Florida, and the Crown Plaza Hotel in White Plains, New York.
